Job Description: Title: Lead Systems Engineer – Model Based Location: Sterling Heights, MI Reports To: Systems Engineering Manager, US Department: Engineering Pay Band/Salary: FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary: The Systems Engineer - Requirements (requirements engineer) is a key role within the engineering team to plan and lead the requirements development and management effort across the integrated product development teams. The requirements engineer ensures the integrity of the requirements management database. Additionally, this role assures bi-directional traceability across the entire requirements hierarchy. The requirements engineer is also responsible for implementing configuration management and change control processes to establish and maintain requirements baselines over the product life cycle. Essential Functions: • Establish and maintain the requirement management tool/database • Establish and control the requirements hierarchy • Lead the requirements development team to allocate, decompose and derive requirements • Develop traceability reports • Assure the uniform flow-down of design constraints • Assure the requirements and architecture development is complete and comprehensive • Develop and maintain product and subsystem level specification • Support the ITPs in developing critical item specifications. • Integration requirements with Cameo system model Supervisory Responsibilities: • None (Team lead) Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing) • Detailed knowledge in Systems Engineering Standards/Processes iaw ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 • Must be proficient in using DOORS for requirements development – DNG preferred • Must be proficient in using Cameo System Modeler • Practical ‘hands on’ attitude with the ability to operate independently • Must be able to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and be able to assimilate complex instructions easily. Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to establish productive relationships. • Must promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork across the organization and its external service providers. Must be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others. Preferred Qualifications: • Currently holds or has the ability to obtain SECRET US Defense clearance desired • Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and regulations desired Working Conditions and Physical Demands: With or without reasonable accommodations, requires the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions.
