Job Description

  Summary:
Our client is looking for a Quality Manager to join their team.  In this role you would be overseeing all aspects of the company’s quality program, including develop, implement and administer the program, train and coach employees, and continually improve the quality processes.

Requirements:
  • Serve as Management Representative for the Quality System and maintain compliance to ISO quality standards. 
  • Facilitate audits by ISO 9000 assessors and maintain our registrations  
  • Ensure that materials and products adhere to quality standards, prints and customer specifications.  
  • Compile customer required documentation such as PPAPs and custom reports as required.  
  • Knowledge of the AIAG Production Part Approval Process (i.e.,  automotive, etc.) 
  • Understanding of material specifications with the ability to analyze material data sheets, certifications of conformance and analysis and conformance to regulations (i.e., regulations such as FDA/EU regs, REACH, etc.) 
  • Implement and clearly document methods to inspect, test and evaluate materials, products, and production and measurement equipment. 
  • Select proper measuring and test equipment for various inspection tasks and document and train on their use.  Familiarity with common hand dimensional measurement tools and techniques.  
  • Prepare reports on product conformity and process performance by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.   Ability to compile and present data via Excel.  
  • Run calibration system including hands-on calibrating of common instruments.    
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control with ability to work with SPC software to record and analyze process performance and dimensional conformance of product. 
  • Train production line staff in measurement practices and quality assessment of product. Instilling in individuals a quality mindset.  
  • Ensure that materials and products adhere to quality standards, prints and customer specifications.  
  • Track products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.  
  • Perform detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards 
  • Supervise and evaluate quality employees. 
  • Implement quality programs to attain and maintain customer satisfaction. 
  • Manage all customer complaints to resolution. 
  • Partner with Engineering to complete risk assessments and implement risk prevention initiatives. 
  • Provide and maintain a calibration system for measurement instruments. 
  • Provide document control for quality system documentation. 
  • Purchase authority to sign requisitions and invoices for quality expense(s) and sales return(s). 
  • Eliminate products that are not up to standards and find the reasons for product problems. 
  • Ability to facilitate and fully document Corrective Action measures to solve problems and prevent their recurrence.  
  • Communicate with direct reports on such issues as: goals of the organization, quality standards, work performance and organizational issues. 
  • Maintain a safe and healthy workplace. 
  • Maintain and comply with the quality system. 
  • Exhibit positive, supportive behavior in all interactions with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers. 
  • Oversee internal audit process. 
  • Serve as head of the Material Review Board (MRB) and evaluate nonconforming material 
  • Train production line staff in measurement practices and quality assessment of product.  
  • Train in quality concepts and measuring techniques throughout the company. 
  • Participate in management review

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership quality position in a manufacturing setting.
  • ASQ Quality certification is a plus. 
  • Blueprint reading ability with some knowledge of GD&T.
